The kitchen built at Falsterbogatan 20, Malmö, was an attempt to shape the architecture of the kitchen to the user instead of forcing the user to adjust to the kitchen itself. Looking into what the user and space would benefit from, the kitchen was built with a more open structure that allows for seating.
Removing anythings that would be placed on the walls, the open space above the counters gives it more air and less of a crammed feeling. Putting counters on parallel sides of the kitchen allows for storage, without hanging shelves on the walls, and increases the working area for the user.
The shape of it, an oblong corridor, gives it a depth leading towards the window and the seating arrangement with a built-in bench.
